NATIONAL SHRINE OF ST. GERARD

118 7th Avenue, Newark  NJ  07104

On behalf of our entire family, we would like to extend our sincere and most grateful appreciation to the parishioners of St. Lucy's for all of your support and expressions of condolences during the sad loss of our beloved Uncle Joey and your Fr. Nat.  Your heart-warming words of comfort were a source of hope and support, and gave us a deeper understanding of your valued relationships with him.  Never before have we heard so many wonderful stories of Uncle Joey's spiritual good works.  Although our family has suffered an enormous loss, the loss to the Saint Lucy's family will never be underestimated in our minds.  We will always cherish those personal accounts of his positive influences upon the lives of countless individuals.

As we listened to the angelic voices of St. Lucy's magnificent choir, we witnessed firsthand an example of Father's wonderful accomplishments.  What a rewarding experience to be present, listening to this wonderful group of singers who perform with an incomparable passion for their and art and for Fr. Nat.  When you sing, we hear Uncle Joey's heart.  The welcoming faces of the St. Lucy's Guard of Honor made our family feel right at home.  Thanks to so very many people, we can surely take with us much solace and many unforgettable memories as we mourn the death of this truly remarkable man.

We said goodbye to our dear Uncle Joey knowing that he was fortunate enough to enjoy the love of two families, ours, and the family of St. Lucy's.  While we will miss him at home, especially during the holidays that he loved so dearly, you have all made us feel so welcomed in your parish, that we know we can find his spirit among all of you.  You were such an important part of his life and are thus an important part of ours.  Thank you for all you have done, and may God bless you and keep you in His loving care.

Please remember to keep us in your prayers, as you will all surely remain in ours.

Sincerely,

The family of Fr. Joseph Nativo
